Decked out with 4,354 photovoltaic panels, it is expected to provide 40 percent of the companys power needs during daylight hours. U.S. Foodservice is leasing the panels from Delta Electronics.
To mark the occasion, an event was held, themed From the Sun to the Future, for local dignitaries, customers, employees and suppliers in Livermore, California. Commenting, Phil Collins, division president, U.S. Foodservice-San Francisco said: "Our new solar panel system will benefit both the environment and our bottom line."
