Japanese solar companies set to visit New Delhi

The likes of Sharp, Kyocera, Toshiba and Kawasaki Heavy Machinery will be in New Delhi on February 19 to meet representatives of Indian firms from every stage of the solar supply chain.
Japanese companies specializing in the manufacture of modules, inverters, tracking systems, module fabs, and photovoltaic materials and components will visit along with providers of power electrics, measuring and testing equipment, EPC and steel companies. Fully integrated solar provider Sumitomo Corporation will also be on hand to meet domestic solar scheme developers.
Despite a government austerity drive, the Indian solar market is blossoming thanks to a combination of the Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission and separate state solar policies, and Bridge To India says foreign companies will be seeking a slice of the action.
