Three products are in the limelight: the PVS800 central inverter, the PWS800-IS inverter station and the PVS580 multistring inverter. The central inverter PVS800 is now available in larger sizes, with new 875 and 1,000 kW models. The operating temperature and altitude rating have been extended for both and the modular DC input design is said to provide greater flexibility for system integrators. The ABB inverter station PVS800-IS is a compact and robust solution that houses all equipment needed to rapidly connect two central inverters to a medium voltage transformer. A station houses two 1,000 kW ABB central inverters, an embedded auxiliary power system and a monitoring system. Rated at 2MW, the station is designed for multi-megawatt PV power plants and will be delivery-ready in 2013. The ABB multistring inverter series are rated from 20 to 25 kW and will be available in 2014. The inverters come with the dual MPP tracking system.
