Norway-headquartered REC enjoyed strong year-over-year growth in the second quarter (Q2) of 2016, boosting its solar module shipments by 25%.
By region, the U.S. market remains its strongest, accounting for 60% of the 326 MW shipped in the quarter an increase of 57% compared to the same period last year.
According to the REC Q2 2016 report, RECs modules are now the most popular panel brand among residential customers in the state of California and, indeed, across the entire U.S.
Elsewhere, shipments to Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) grew a massive 87% compared to Q2 2015, the company confirmed.
Other notable achievements in Q2 for REC include the expansion of the companys Solar Professional Program for installers operating in Asia Pacific, and the ongoing acceleration of converting RECs production facility lines to its award-winning TwinPeak module technology.
Earlier this week the firm also set a new world-record for industrial-scale multicrystalline solar cell efficiencies, achieving an average of 20.21% using a new formula for mass production. REC has also become the first module manufacturer to obtain the new ISO9001:2015 certification with zero non-conformance.
"Our strong performance and longevity is a testament to RECs great products, services and people," said REC CEO Steve ONeil.
