German grid regulator Bundesnetzagentur reports that new PV systems with a combined capacity of 206.5 MW were registered in June, slightly down from 212 in May. Of this capacity, 88.4 MW comes from 14 ground-mounted solar parks selected in the recent auctions for PV projects ranging in size from 750 kW to 10 MW and 12 solar plants up to 750 kW, which were built outside the auction scheme, in accordance with Germany’s new renewable energy law (EEG 2017). Small-sized PV systems installed in June reached 118.1 MW.
The Bundesnetzagentur has also published the new FIT levels for the three-month period from Aug. 1 to Oct. 31. The rates of the FIT incentive for this period are set by the grid regulator depending on the development volume registered between January and June 2017, which was of around 900 MW. After reducing the FITs by 0.25% per month in the previous three-month period, the Bundesnetzagentur said the FIT levels for the upcoming quarter will remain unchanged.
FITs for rooftop PV systems up to 100 kW will range from €0.1061/kWh to €0.1220/kWh depending on the system size. All other installations up to 100 kW will be entitled to receive a FIT of €0.0844/kWh.

This is definitely a recovery. The 2016 total was 1.2 GW, or 100MW a month. FITs are now so low that further cuts would surely make little difference, as the financial case depends mainly on self -consumption, now increased by affordable storage behind the meter. It will be interesting to watch the government realising, when the installation pace rises to 300 MW a month and they would like to slow down, that it has no plausible way of achieving this.
