Opto-electro-thermal model to predict solar cell temperature, output

French scientists have developed a fully coupled opto-electro-thermal model that reportedly predicts solar cell behavior under real operating conditions in a standalone framework. They said the model can detect the impact of cell doping on the operating temperature and the temperature coefficient.

Enel unveils 680 W n-type heterojunction solar panel for utility-scale applications

Solliance hits 30.1% efficiency on perovskite/silicon tandem solar cell

The Solliance consortium achieved a 29.2% record efficiency for the solar cell in November 2021, from just 28.7% in March 2020. In recent months, it increased the perovskite cell for the tandem device from 17.8% to 19.7%.

MXenes-based perovskite solar cell achieves 23.66% efficiency

A UK-Chinese research group claims to have achieved remarkable efficiency and stability for a solar cell based on an electron transport layer doped with two-dimensional titanium carbide (Ti3C2Tx). The champion cell has an efficiency of 23.66%, an open-circuit voltage of 1.095 V, a short-circuit current of 25.07 mA/cm2, and fill factor of 83.18%.

Ireland launches rebate scheme for rooftop PV on non-residential buildings

The maximum rebate in Ireland’s new scheme is €2,400 ($2,345) for PV systems up to 6 kW in size. It will remain at this level for 2022 and 2023.

Canadian Solar presents all-in-one residential battery inverter solution

The new product is available in four versions with a storage capacity ranging from 9.9 to 19.9 kWh. The battery inverter comes with a 10-year warranty and can reportedly provide steady operation for up to 6,000 charge cycles.
