BREAKING: SunEdison CEO Ahmad Chatila resigns

Share

It has long been expected that SunEdison’s restructuring under bankruptcy protection would involve a change in executives, and today that came true at the highest level. After seven years of leading SunEdison CEO Ahmad Chatila has stepped down, as revealed in a filing with financial regulators.

According to this filing Chatila resigned from his position as CEO, his board membership and all other positions on June 16, with the resignation effective today. Chatila has been replaced as CEO by restructuring expert John S. Dubel, who was appointed Chief Restructuring Officer in April, and will continue in that role.

"Our priority is to focus on SunEdison's core strengths and work to create a more streamlined and efficient operator better positioned and more appropriately capitalized for a competitive future,” stated Dubel in SunEdison press release.
