JinkoSolar connects 80 MW PV project to China grid

The four solar farms bring the Chinese solar company’s annual grid connection capacity to 213 MW for 2013.

China's JinkoSolar has added an additional 80 MW of PV projects to the national grid in China, bringing the company’s total grid-connected solar capacity to 213 MW for 2013.

The latest installation is spread across four separate PV projects in China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region: in Alar, Shaya, Bohu and Wusuin, and each 20 MW in size. Each of JinkoSolar’s PV projects for 2013 have been connected to the grid and qualify for the country’s national feed-in tariffs.

The company calculate that the 313 MW of solar power installed this year provide an annual power generation capacity of 324 million kWh, mitigating the effects of 256,000 tons of CO2 annually.

"I am proud to report that we have reached our 2013 project connection target,” said JinkoSolar’s chairman, Xiande Li. "We will continue to expand our downstream business and aim to reach an aggregate amount of more than 500 MW worth of projects by the end of 2014, representing an annual power generation capacity of 750 million kWh.

"With the clear commitment of the Chinese government to renewable energy – solar energy in particular – and a gradually maturing market, we are eager to generate more green energy as well as good returns for our investors."
