Recom acquires Jabil’s solar module production lines

The PV module manufacturer started negotiations with Jabil, after the U.S. introduced duties on solar imports. Recom plans to restart manufacturing activities with Jabil’s 700 MW production equipment in the first quarter of 2019. Where exactly this will take place, however, has not been disclosed yet.

Solar to reach 1.2 GW in Poland by the end of 2020

With around 300 MW of installed PV power at the end of May, Poland still needs volume to become a major European PV market. More capacity is expected to come online over the next years, however, as a result of the auction mechanism for renewables. Around 360 MW was allocated by the two auctions held by the Polish government, although only 27 MW of this is currently online.

ReneSola secures €36 million loan for Polish PV projects

The Sequoia Economic Infrastructure Income Fund has extended a loan to ReneSola Ltd to €36 million for the implementation of 55 MW of solar PV projects in Poland.

Polish utility PGE takes another step into solar

The utility’s renewable energy unit PGE EO has announced the construction of a PV laboratory and a solar module field test in Siedlce. The move is part of its plan to invest in solar parks up to 1 MW under Poland’s auction mechanism.

Poland’s PV capacity reaches 281 MW

In 2017, newly installed solar power in Poland reached around 81 MW, the majority of which comprised PV installations 40 kW or smaller in size.

Poland to tender 750 MW of solar projects up to 1 MW in 2018

The Polish government may also launch a mixed wind-solar auction for projects over 1 MW that, according to local analyst Piotr Pająk, would eventually conclude with a prevailing share of wind.

2017 Polish residential PV grew by 81.3 MW

The residential segment saw an increase of 26% in new installations last year, with net metering continuing to drive the market.

Lithuania’s Modus Energy plans 56 MW of solar projects in Poland
