The park was sold to a consortium of international investors, which include MetLife, Fondo PPP Italia and Voigt & Collegen. SunPower designed and built the project, and has said it will provide ongoing operations and maintenance services for the new owners.

"With the sale of this power plant now completed, we have met the goal of developing, constructing and monetizing 72 MWs from the Montalto di Castro solar park," commented Dennis Arriola, SunPower chief financial officer.

The Montalto di Castro solar park is located near Rome. The 20 MW first phase was connected to the grid last November, while the eight MW second phase was commissioned earlier this autumn. The final phases, totaling 44 MWs, were completed earlier this month.
