The company was adamant that it will not exit the Indian PV market, after rumors last October suggested that the company will sell its PV assets in India. Now, the company reiterates its commitment and stresses that additional funding will be used to develop new assets.

A 100 MW solar park in Tumkur District, Karnataka has been connected to the regional grid, reports project owner Fortum. The project is Fortum’s fourth project to be connected in India, and its largest so far, more than doubling its total capacity to 185 MW.

The Finnish power utility has agreed to acquire three solar facilities, commissioned between 2016 and 2017 and located in Russia, from local solar module maker Hevel.

The Finnish utility has reiterated its commitment for the Indian PV market, after a media article had reported that the company is seeking to sell its solar assets in the country.

Fortum will collaborate with NBCC, India to develop 150 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in India over the next 18 months, while ABB has bid for the tender to provide 4,500 charging stations across the country.

Finnish energy group Fortum could take over a 46.65% stake in Uniper from Eon, with a deal expected to be made as early as the start of 2018. Eon hopes to see proceeds of €3.8 billion from the sale.

The Finnish utility has confirmed plans to build a MW-sized PV plant in the Baltic country. The installation would be located near Tartu, Estonia’s second largest city.

The Finnish power utility has completed its third large-scale PV plant in India. The 70 MW Bhadla solar park is located in the state of Rajasthan.

Saft has provided a 2 MW lithium-ion battery for a Fortum power plant in Järvenpää, Finland. Fortum will receive a 30% subsidy from Finland’s government towards the €1.6 m cost of the project.
