The "MK Hodovo 1" was completed in Grude, in December by Elcor d.o.o elektotehni?ki inenjering. In addition to undertaking planning and construction work, Elcor also supplied the necessary components and electrical equipment. Power-One, meanwhile, provided six of its Aurora Trio-27.6-S2X inverters.
Overall, construction on the plant lasted two months. "Especially the south of Bosnia and Herzegovina offers a great potential for solar PV installations making it an interesting new market for us," commented Paolo Casini, VP, marketing at Power-One.
Due to the sunny conditions, the Bosnia and Herzegovina government has reportedly designated the region near Stolac a "PV energy area". In a statement released, Power-One says that the MK Hodovo 1 photovoltaic plant is one of three in the region.
No further details were immediately available.
In November, DEGER Tracking Systems announced the completion of two 150 kWp photovoltaic parks, located in Drinovci and Stolac, respectively. While it supplied the necessary trackers, contractor GP Toming d.o.o. carried out the construction work.
GP Toming is said to be planning 17 more 150 kWp photovoltaic systems in Bosnia and Herzegovina. "We want to install as many parks as possible in the shortest possible time and are determined to equip all these parks with tracking systems from DEGER," stated project manager Ivan Tomas at the time.
