Ontario opens window for PV rooftop permit applications

Share

As expected, the provincial power authority will approve up to 200 kW of new and existing applications, although legacy applications will have to re-submit their proposals in the light of changes to the FIT regime announced on November 23 and on December 11. The official announcement did not specify when the window for applications will close.

The OPA is already accepting applications for household systems of up to 10 kW up to a maximum 50 MW capacity, having opened the microfit application window last Friday.

In the microfit category, re-submitted historic applications will be given precedence over new systems.

The OPA is yet to announce when the largest, ground-mounted, category – for systems larger than 500 kW – window will be opened, or what the maximum capacity of permits available will be for these utility-scale applications.
