Fotowatio starts project in Texas

The Webberville Solar project will be located east of Austin, Texas. It is scheduled to start operations by the end of the year. Construction and operations and maintenance services will be provided by Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc (RES Americas), based in Colorado, for a period of five years.

Bayerische Landesbank or Bayern LB has underwritten the construction debt for this project. A flat, single-axis tracking system will be utilised for the mounting of 270 Watt crystalline photovoltaic modules that Fotowatio procured directly from Trina Solar.

The completed plant will provide electricity under a long-term purchase agreement with Austin Energy for 25 years. Around 5,000 homes are expected to be powered by this project.
