Bosch realizes 5 MW UK solar park


Located in Trefullock, southern England, the five megawatt (MW) project will be grid connected in July. It is said to comprise around 21,000 c-Si M 60 monocrystalline solar modules, which, says the company, is enough to cover the electricity needs of 1,450 four-person households.

The park, which was realized jointly with hep capital GmbH, covers a total area of 18 hectares. Bosch says the irradiation at the park's location is comparable to that of southern Germany’s.

"We are delighted that we have had this opportunity to demonstrate what we can do, particularly in the UK solar market, which is still relatively young," commented Peter Schneidewind, sales director at Bosch Solar Energy. "Photovoltaics are becoming increasingly important here. We'll be seeing more and more solar systems in the future, particularly on the roofs of UK houses."
