Built over four phases, the 80-MW plant spans 160 hectares and comprises 360,000 modules. The first three phases were completed earlier this year.
Vienna-based Activ Solar used the opportunity to also announce the opening of an office in Odessa, Ukraine. Kaveh Ertefai, CEO of Activ Solar said in a statement: "Opening an office in Odessa clearly demonstrates our continued commitment to the region and allows us to more effectively expand our activities with a local presence."
Odessa is a good location for photovoltaics as it has high levels of irradiation. Activ Solar also operates the PJC Semiconductor Plant in the Ukraine, through a subsidiary and has a history in polysilicon production dating back to 1964.
