INR 2 billion (around 28 million, US$36.5 million) was invested in the photovoltaic plant, which was built under the first phase of Indias Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission (JNNSM). The generated electricity will be sold to NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited under a 25 year PPA.
Around 100 permanent jobs are expected to be created via the crystalline silicon project, which was said to be realized in just 10 months.
Jakson adds that it has signed EPC contracts for the development of a further 40 MW at the same project site. Overall, it says it has acquired 250 acres of additional land, in order to scale the plant up to 100 MW over the next three years.
