Intersolar Europe is spread over the next three days, with all of the industry’s most prominent players hosting exhibits. Also running alongside the solar show is the electricity energy storage event EES, which is focused on storage solutions.
Markus Elsässer, CEO of show organizers Solarpromotion, pointed out that 2017 marks the second year running that Intersolar Europe has increased in size by 40%, with an entire new hall opened up to fit in all of this year’s exhibitors.
The concurrent EES event has doubled in size for 2017 compared with the previous year. EES separated from Intersolar in 2014, demonstrating the growing importance of storage to the wider energy industry. EES this year will host 251 exhibitors, across both events there are more than 400 companies exhibiting storage solutions this year.
Smart renewable energy solutions will be one of the major themes at this year’s event, as integration and ensuring grid stability become necessary to support solar’s continuing growth.
Speaking at a press conference earlier today, Elsässer also announced two further separate events to begin in 2018. Power2Drive will exhibit developments in emobility, while EM Power will focus on industrial scale energy solutions. These separate events will allow Intersolar Europe to focus more closely on solar.
“As Intersolar continues to develop,” stated Elsässer, “we want to make a platform for the entire world of energy.”
