Chinese solar module producer GCL System Integration Technology (GCL-SI), a unit of Chinese polysilicon manufacturer GCL-Poly, has bagged a 62 MW solar module order from Brazilian engineering company WEG.

GCL-SI said that it will provide the Brazilian company with its GCL-P6/72 325W modules and that these will be shipped from September to November this year. WEG will use the panels for several PV projects across Brazil, GCL-SI added. The financial terms of the supply deal were not revealed.

The Chinese manufacturer said that it aims to further expand into the Brazilian solar market, particularly in the distributed generation (DG) segment. In early September, the company said, it hosted several workshops in Brazil “to enhance communication and deepen connections with local partners and distributors.”

“WEG is a widely-respected EPC company in Latin America with years of experience in electrical engineering. We are delighted to be able to work with WEG on their local clean energy projects and to assist in the building of a greener living environment for the local community,” said GCL-SI president Shu Hua.
