Only5mins! – Lower electrolyzer costs crucial for green hydrogen deployment

Why must the solar or wind wind source be close to the electrolyzer? Why not just feed the electrolyzer from the grid, and simply add more solar/wind to the grid?
Also, I have a question you might have an answer for. What chemical engineering processes, like for instance the Haber process, can be fed with intermittent solar energy and intermittent green hydrogen?
