Enel receives $1 billion credit line from China

Share

Enel S.p.A. has signed the five year financing agreement with the two Chinese lenders to promote the development of projects on a world-wide basis.

While the credit line will be available to Enel and its subsidiaries, the Italian utility specifically said Enel Green Power, which it recently repurchased, would be a key actor.

Under the terms, Chinese companies will participate in the projects either as EPC contractors, or suppliers. A spokesperson told pv magazine that as it is a framework agreement, "no details about specific projects or geographical areas of interest are available."

Enel has been active in the Chinese market since 2004.
