Brussels-based European PV waste recycling organization PV Cycle has established a new body to handle its operations in Germany.

PV Cycle Deutschland GmbH will be based in Munich and headed by German country manager Andreas Hess, PV Cycle announced in a press release today.

Not-for-profit organization PV Cycle claims to offer collection and recycling services so PV importers and manufacturers across around 90% of the European market can comply with the requirements of the European Union's Waste Electrical and Electrical Equipment (WEEE) directive.

Under the revised terms of WEEE, PV importers and manufacturers must ensure the correct waste treatment of modules they put onto the European market after February.

PV Cycle says it has already treated almost 4,000 tonnes of PV waste in Germany since starting operations in 2010.
