Indian developer ReNew Power has commissioned a 17.6 MW captive wind-solar project to supply clean energy to Grasim Industries Limited’s Chlor-Alkali unit in the Indian state of Gujarat. The second phase will involve an additional installation of 16.68 MW.

Through the procurement exercise, the state-owned power provider wants to build eight solar plants across Argentina’s northern province of Jujuy.

The Bwengu Solar PV Power Plant will spread over 105 hectares of land and is expected to be built at a cost of $65 million within 12 months. The facility will be located in Ulalo Nyirenda village, which is just 1 km from the Bwengu Escome Substation power grid. 

The Western Australian coastal town of Kalbarri can now be powered by an entirely renewable energy solution utilizing rooftop solar and wind generation coupled with battery storage with state government-owned utility Western Power confirming the state’s largest renewable energy microgrid has been commissioned.

Norway’s Scatec – which has a 50% stake in Acme’s 900 MW solar project in Rajasthan, India – has put the planned installation on hold due to a lack of domestically produced solar panels and a 40% import duty on PV modules that will go into effect from April.
