Canadian Premium Sand and Hanwha sign an agreement for patterned solar glass manufactured in Manitoba.

The country added more than 30 GW of new PV capacity in the first half of 2022 and its cumulative installed solar power reached 340 GW at the end of June.

The Chinese government has revealed that the nation’s solar glass capacity has reached 64,000 metric tons per day, while State Grid Corp. of China has announced plans to allocate CNY 26.07 billion ($4.3 billion) for solar incentives.

JA Solar, TCL Zhonghuan, GCL Tech, and Ganfeng Lithium all announced increasing profits and revenue. Meanwhile, JinkoSolar expands its hydrogen business and Xinte Energy secures another big polysilicon supply deal.

Longi has revealed plans to enter the inverter business through a partnership with Shenzhen Energy, while Solarspace has announced plans to open a 16 GW cell factory in Anhui province.

Trina Solar has started building a silicon-to-module production base in Qinghai province, while Jolywood said it is now producing new TOPCon solar cells in Shanxi province. Tongwei, meanwhile, said it believes that its net profit soared in the first half.

In other news, DAH Solar announced a 5 GW TOPCon solar module factory in Anhui province and Tongwei further raised the prices of its solar cells.

JA Solar has revealed plans to build a 10 GW cell factory in Jiangsu province, while Shuangliang Eco-Energy has agreed to buy 222,5000 metric tons (MT) of polysilicon from Tongwei.

Almaden and Trina Solar have signed a long-term solar glass supply deal, while Growatt has revealed plans to list shares in Hong Kong. PV glassmaker Xinyi, meanwhile, has issued a gloomy profit outlook for the first half of 2022.

Average polysilicon prices ranged from CNY 273 ($40.82)/kg to CNY 280/kg this week, according to an industry association in China.
