Financing secured for solar-plus-storage project in Senegal

Madagascar-based Axian Energy has obtained €84 million ($89.2 million) of financing for a solar-plus-storage project, featuring a 60 MW solar plant and a 72 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in southern Senegal.

Offgrid PV-driven hydrogen vs. standalone solar-plus-storage

A German research team has compared the economic performance of an offgrid PV-electrolyser-fuel cell system with that of a standalone solar-plus-storage counterpart in a building in Niger. Its analysis showed that decentralized PV-driven hydrogen could achieve considerable lower levelized cost of energy and levelized cost of storage than the PV-battery system, with these values reaching €0.12 ($13.1)/kWh and €0.35/kWh, respectively.

Lightsource bp unveils plans for solar-plus-storage in Ireland

Lightsource bp says it plans to develop a solar-plus-storage facility in Ireland. The proposed installation will feature a 57 MW solar array and a 54 MW energy storage system on an open grassland site in the eastern part of the country.
