Activ Solar adds 127.5 MW of PV in the Ukraine

The solar parks are located in the Odessa region on what were landfills. The first is situated in Priozernaya and totals 54.8 MWp, while the second plant is in Limanskaya and totals 43.4 MWp. Earlier this year, the Vienna-based solar company completed a 29.3 MWp plant in Voznesensk.

The Priozernaya park was financed by a Chinese bank and is comprised of 50 inverters and 227,744 multicrystalline photovoltaic modules. Meanwhile, the Limanskaya plant was built using 181,192 multicrystalline photovoltaic panels and 41 inverters, and was financed by a Russian bank. The names of the banks were not revealed due to confidentiality agreements.

Activ Solar’s spokesperson Markus Wölbitsch told pv magazine that there are currently other projects in the pipeline in the Ukraine. Since they are at an early stage, more details could not be divulged. "The focus will remain on the regions of Crimea, Odessa and Mykolaiv," he said.

Activ Solar has installed 420 MW of photovoltaics in the Ukraine to date. The company has also recently secured a photovoltaic project in California, the U.S.. No further details were released.
