Yingli to develop 3 GW of PV plants in China


According to a statement released today, Yingli signed a strategic agreement with Qujing city government and Honghe state government yesterday. Under the agreement, the company will realize 3 GW PV power plants during the period from 2013 to 2016.

The project, which is aimed at advancing the agriculture industry, is planned to be located in unused barren landscape, including hilly terrain.

Highlighting the excellent solar irradiation in the region, Yingli noted that the project lays a foundation for the company’s continuing development and growth. As the Chinese government has already set a number of policies in motion to foster the development of the photovoltaic industry in the country, Yingli stated that it is positive about future photovoltaic market development in Yunnan province
