SunEdison appoints new president for Europe, Africa and Latin America

Solar technology company SunEdison has today announced a reshuffle of its leadership with the appointment of Jose Perez as president of SunEdison Europe, Africa and Latin America.

Making way for Perez is his namesake, Pancho Perez, who moves into a new role as COO of SunEdison Capital – a subsidiary of SunEdison that focuses on aggregating capital to develop, build and finance the long-term ownership of SunEdison’s solar business.

Jose Perez is the former vice president of SunEdison Latin America, and previously worked as VP of global project operations for for EMEA at the company. This new role sees Perez assume the responsibility of overseeing all business development activities in Spain, the U.K., Italy, Turkey, Jordan, Chile, Brazil and Mexico, as well as seeking out new territories for the SunEdison brand.

"Our organization benefits greatly from the expertise of our senior leaders," said SunEdison president and CEO, Ahmad Chatila. "I asked Jose to lead our Europe, Africa and Latin America business because he is a proven leader with a clear vision of how he wants to grow our business. I have full confidence in his ability to accomplish our goals in the region."

Remarking on his appointment, Jose Perez said he was honored to lead the company’s growth in these regions, adding: "The solar industry is growing rapidly [in these regions]… where we are seeing a lot of exciting opportunities.

"I look forward to contributing decisively to the expansion of SunEdison in size and geographic reach, and consolidate its position in new markets with great potential for photovoltaic."
