Chinese thin-film manufacturer Hanergy Solar Group Limited has officially changed its name to Hanergy Thin Film Power after shareholders voted overwhelmingly for the new moniker at a special general meeting on Monday.
The new branding reflects the groups focus on thin-film technology. One of the largest thin-film manufacturing groups in the world, it owns several high-profile global players in the CIGS technology field, including U.S. firms Global Solar and MiaSole as well as Germanys Solibro.
The company announced the name change in a notice to Hong Kong stock exchange operator Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing.
Hanergy most recently acquired California-based Gallium Arsenide (GaAs) thin film developer Alta Devices.
