SolarWorld AG will advance the leasing of solar-plus-storage residential systems in Germany, in a partnership announced today with lease provider DZ-4. Through the deal SolarWorld will have access to DZ-4s customer base. DZ-4, based in Hamburg, will own and operate the systems under a 10-year lease.
"We are pleased to now have products the leading German manufacturer for use with SolarWorld," said DZ-4 managing director Florian Bergshausen. "In doing so we can serve customers who value high quality and production in Germany."
SolarWorld will actively market the DZ-4 lease product to its customers, opening the opportunity to serve homeowners who might ordinarily be discouraged by the upfront investment in a solar-plus-storage system.
"With this partnership, we expand our offering to our customers, said SolarWorlds Frank Asbeck in a statement. We deliver the optimum system for customer needs, offer quality made in Germany products that are durable and deliver maximum efficiency."
Solar leasing only accounts for a small proportion of the German solar market. DZ-4 itself is a relative newcomer, having been founded in 2011.
