U.S. PV manufacturer GeorgiaSuniva, Inc., has teamed up with DMSolar, a leading solar distributor in Mexico.
The Atlanta-based company, which is majority owned by Chinese giant Shunfeng International Clean Energy, recently partnered with DMSolar on several solar projects in Mexico totaling more than 2 MW.
The companies' latest project, a 300 kW rooftop intallation in in Leon, Guanajuato, went live in November. SMARTPV, the installer and integrator based in Guadalajara, selected Sunivas 330 W Optimus panels for their high power density, a requirement for end-user and energy owner Acopol, a Mexican manufacturer of commercialized goods.
"Our partnership provides high-quality solar products to the growing solar market in Mexico," said Pat King, Suniva's VP of distribution channels. "Many local companies are realizing the significance of high power density and how it will yield a stronger solar investment Sunivas technology is ideal for this market.
DMSolar Director Yusef Kanchi added, The Mexican market we work with seeks American-made, high-quality, high-powered products and we have found that Georgia-based Suniva is our go-to company for both quality and power.
Suniva operates manufacturing facilities in Georgia and Michigan.
