The Turkish Ministry of Energy has completed, thus far, only the tender’s first 60 MW tranche, and the four winning bids ranged from $0.0248/kWh to $0.0335/kWh. The other tranches of the procurement exercise will be finalized over the next few days.

JA Solar has agreed to buy 75,000 MT of polysilicon from Qinghai-based Asia Silicon (Qinghai) Co., Ltd., and Longi will buy 250 million square meters of PV glass from US-based Chinese manufacturer Deli Glass. Huantai Group commissioned another furnace at its 12 GW wafer factory in Inner Mongolia.
Massive plan for hybrid heat pump deployment in the Netherlands
The Dutch association of national-regional electricity and gas network operators, Netbeheer Nederland, is leading a plan to deploy up to 2 million hybrid heat pumps by 2030. The plan should be supported by a subsidy scheme by the government and enable the installation of at least 100,000 heat pumps per year from 2024.
Average silver price expected to reach $27.3 per ounce this year
According to the Silver Institute, global industrial silver production is expected to grow 8% this year due to strong demand for consumer electronics and solar. The price for silver is expected to peak at $32 per ounce later this year and its average price to increase 33% over 2020.
Torrent Power secures PPA for 300 MW solar capacity in India
The integrated power producer will sell solar power from a plant located in Gujarat to its licensed distribution business unit at a price of INR 2.22/kWh ($0.03/kWh).
