Potential of floating PV, solar parking, agrivoltaics in Germany

Academics have used geospatial land-eligibility research and existing legislation to identify the potential for up to 4.7 GW of floating PV, 24.6 GW of solar parking, and 5,437 GW of agrivoltaics in Germany.

Singulus Solar presents cell, module production equipment for TOPCon, HJT manufacturing

Germany-based Singulus Solar, a joint venture of Singulus Technologies, a German PV equipment manufacturer, and Yingkou Jinchen Machinery, a Chinese module manufacturing equipment supplier, announced it will supply cell and module turnkey solutions to manufacturers of tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) and heterjunction (HJT) PV products.

Are there consumers willing to buy ‘agrivoltaic’ apples?

A new survey from Germany shows that consumers may show a high willingness to pay (WTP) for apples produced in agrivoltaic facilities. The research also highlighted that consumers also consider parameters such as organic farming, plastic usage and origin, among others.

Colored BIPV manufacturers and success factors

A Swiss research team published a review of the technologies used to manufacture of colored building integrated PV, discussing competitive characteristics of more than a dozen products, as well as success factors to drive market development.

JA Solar debuts 23.3%-efficient single-glass, anti-dust solar panel at SNEC

The new module has a power output of up to 650 W and weighs 29.6 kg. It uses JA Solar’s patented anti-dust frame technology, which reportedly enhances drainage and decontamination performance, thus reducing dust accumulation and avoiding hotspot issues.

Long-duration stability of perovskite solar cells

US scientists have analyzed the impact of “seasoning” a formamidinium lead iodide solution with two-dimensional (2D) perovskites. They have found that the template improved the efficiency and durability of their solar cells.

AI in photovoltaic systems

Researchers from Chinese and Malaysian universities have compared studies demonstrating the use of artificial intelligence to solve PV integration problems. They say that AI will bring revolutionary improvements in the efficiency, reliability and predictability of solar power generation.
