A 20-year power supply deal for 238 MW of solar in Brazil

French developer Voltalia has contracted to supply solar power to Brazilian thermoplastic resin company Braskem. The solar plant which will generate the electricity is planned as an expansion of two facilities allocated by the Brazilian government in a public renewable energy auction.

Ghana’s first bilateral solar PPA

Plastic manufacturer Miniplast will buy electricity from a 704 kW grid-connected solar array owned and operated by Norwegian developer Empower New Energy AS.

Another big solar PPA from Spain

21-year solar PPA for three French airports

The airports of Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle, Orly and Le Bourget will be provided with solar power by French solar company Urbasolar and energy provider GazelEnergie. The PV plants related to the contract are now in development and will begin delivering power in 2021.

IEnova secures 15-year power deal for 150 MW solar park in Mexico

The project the company is developing in Juárez will sell energy to the Mexican department store chain El Puerto de Liverpool through a 15-year PPA for the second contract of the type IEnova has secured with the group.

Scratching the surface of Brazil’s huge solar potential

But it is not all about auctions, Sauaia tells pv magazine, there are 2 GW of solar projects under development for which bilateral PPAs may be signed, and hundreds of MW worth of such schemes that have already secured contracts.
