Indian state-owned hydropower producer NHPC and Grid Corp. of Odisha (GRIDCO) have agreed to develop 2 GW of pumped storage and 1 GW of solar energy projects.

Torrent Power has signed a deal with the Maharashtra state government in India to set up 5.7 GW of pumped hydro storage capacity, while NHPC, a state-owned hydropower producer, is actively exploring pumped storage projects across multiple states in the country.

German power utility EnBW says its new pumped hydro storage project will require an investment of €280 million ($304.9 million). It is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.
