As Chinese panel giant Yingli strives to kill a persistent rumor it has halted production due to an unsustainable debt burden, its press department today released news of a 240 MW shipment to Chile.
The Baoding-based manufacturer emphasized, having completed the first phase of the 780,000-panel order, the second-phase will take place next month.
The YGE 72-cell panels are being exclusively provided by Yingli for Latin America's two largest hybrid PV and concentrating solar power (CSP) plants, both of which are based in northern Chile, which Bloomberg New Energy Finance today named as the biggest global growth market for clean energy investment from April to June.
Yingli says the first of the projects which also feature 110 MW of CSP and thermal storage to come online is expected to be switched on by the middle of next year.
