In the first 6 months of 2012, the number of households applying for the grants rose by around 75% over the same period a year earlier, according to figures provided by the NFEPWM. Presently, grants that cover up to 45% of the solar investments are available.
The Polish government originally earmarked PLN 300 million (73 million) for the grant program. Of this, about PLN 104.4 million (25.1 million) in grants will be provided to Polish households that purchase photovoltaic modules in 2012.
To date, more than 21,000 households have benefited from the grant program, installing about 160,000 square meters of photovoltaic modules.
The number of households applying for the grant is the biggest in Polands ?l?sk and Podkarpacie regions. Residents from the countrys Lubuskie and Kujawsko-Pomorskie regions benefit from the program to the least extent, the NFEPWM said.
