Singulus begins production on CIGS tool order

Singulus Technologies – the leading German solar PV equipment manufacturer – has confirmed that it has begun production of its CIGS process machines as part of a €20 million ($22.5 million) order for an unnamed customer.

However, pv magazine understands that the deal is to supply Chinese solar firm Hanergy with deposition machines for its Solibro CIGS technology.

Both Singulus and Hanergy have so far declined pv magazine’s approach for confirmation. Instead, Singulus issued a press release confirming that it had agreed payments for the orders, and that delivery will be completed over the course of the current business year.

The Singulus statement also confirmed that assembly of its TENUIS II production machines for the wet-chemical application of buffer layers is also due to commence "shortly".
