Ingeteam, the Spain-based inverter manufacturer, revealed today that it has installed its 2.33 MVA Ingecon Sun Powerstation central inverters at one of the largest solar PV plants in the U.K.
The 40 MW Raventhorpe Plant, located in the eastern English county of Lincolnshire, was completed in March just days before the deadline for the renewable obligation certificate (ROC) at 1.4, and is one of the biggest utility-scale solar developments in the country. The project was developed by Kinetica Solar.
Ingeteam has also delivered and connected to the U.K. grid one of its Ingecon Sun powerstations at a 7 MW solar PV plant in Cumbria, northeast England. Combined, these two new developments have boosted Ingeteams solar PV footprint in the U.K. to 120 MW, while the companys O&M department now services more than 140 MW of solar in the country.
The company has enjoyed recent connection successes in Argentina and Chile Latin American markets that it hopes it can corner given Ingeteams shared language and similar culture. However, Europe remains an attractive market for the company thanks to higher inverter revenues on the continent.
