Sonnenbatterie expands distribution in Europe

Leading German intelligent storage systems company Sonnenbatterie has expanded its operations in Europe with a new distribution partner in Slovakia.

Partnering with local firm M3Soft in the northern city of Poprad, the Bavarian company opened its first Sonnenbatterie Center at the foot of Slovakia's High Tatra Mountains in June.

"In recent months we have gained many new distributors in Germany as well as abroad," said Sonnenbatterie sales manager Sven Albersmeier-Braun. "This shows that the issue of electricity storage is not only a trend here but also throughout Europe that is exciting more and more people. With Slovakia, we have opened up a completely new market for our intelligent storage systems.

It’s the latest regional Sonnenbatterie Centre to open following recent new outlets in Austria, Switzerland, Italy and Luxembourg.

An IT industry specialist, M3Soft has worked on a number of projects with such companies as Slovak Telekom and Skoda. As a result of the increasing demand for energy-saving opportunities, M3Soft has in the past three years become an energy consultant and operates a separate business unit for the sector, which the company plans to further expand.

Sonnenbatterie recently unveiled its new generation of lithium-based products. "In combination with a photovoltaic system, an operator can benefit from up to 80% self-consumption at constant production costs, which are already significantly below current electricity prices," said Sonnenbatterie CEO Christoph Ostermann.

Sonnenbatterie is also introducing its products in the United States for the first time at the Intersolar North America trade show in San Francisco, where the company is on the lookout for North American distribution partners. Intersolar runs July 8-10.
