Located in Jiuquan, Gansu Province, the facility covers an area of 200 acres. Chint Group vice president, Mr. Chen Jianke, said that it will generate RMB 20 billion in annual sales once up and running.

Exploring possibilities in Western China, says the Chint Group, is part of its strategic development plan. In October of this year, Chint Group founder Mr. Nan Cunhui led an official company visit to Gansu where he signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Gansu's Development and Reform Commission.

According to the agreement, Astronergy will setup 1,000 MW in grid-connected PV projects before 2020. In addition, the companies have agreed to invest in and establish 200 MW of PV cell and module production before 2015.
