Chinese manufacturer Canadian Solar is providing EPC services and modules to Canada's largest solar park in a deal worth C$310 million (US$301 million).

The company will use its new facility on London, Ontario as well as its Guelph manufacturing facility in the province, to supply 445,000 CS6X modules to the 100 MW Grand Renewable Solar (GRS) project in Haldimand County, Ontario.

The 736-acre development, which is expected to be complete by mid-2015, is the largest in the country and with an equipment nameplate capacity of 130 MW DC, development partner CarbonFree Technology claims it is one of the largest solar parks in North America.

In addition to Ontario-manufactured panels, GRS will use inverters made in the province by SMA Canada Inc. at Don Mills and the racking will be manufactured in Canada by Magna International Inc.

The project will supply power to the Ontario Power Authority under a 100 MW contract 20-year PPA.

CarbonFree Technology and s2e Technologies Inc. will provide construction management services on the project.

Canadian Solar today announced it has also been awarded a contract to supply 1.78 MW of its CS6X panels for an extension of Saudi Aramco's King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center (KAPSARC).

The panels will be used in the Riyadh project which is set to be Saudi's largest solar scheme once complete.
