Pospief, the association of solar producers in Greece, says that about 1 GW of installed PV projects are still waiting to connect to the grid. The Greek distribution system is unable to accommodate new, small-scale PV capacity, aside from net-metering projects.

Lightsource bp expands First Solar module supply plan to 8.3 GW

Lighsource bp has ordered 4 GW of US-made thin-film solar panels, adding to the 4.3 GW it ordered in 2021. Silicon Ranch, meanwhile, expanded upon its master supply agreement with First Solar, which includes a 4 GW transaction announced in April 2022.

France unveils new FIT rates for PV systems up to 500 kW

India installed 15 GW of solar in 2022, says Bridge To India

Africa-focused solar fund raises $92.7 million

Rgreen Invest and Echosys Invest have raised €87.5 million ($92.7 million) through the Afrigreen Debt Impact Fund. They said they will use the money to finance on-grid and off-grid solar projects for small- and medium-sized commercial and industrial customers in Africa.

Algeria’s Sonelgaz launches 2 GW solar tender

Algeria’s state-owned utility, Sonelgaz, is seeking proposals to build 15 solar plants in 11 locations. The projects will range in size from 80 MW to 220 MW.
