Nepal kicks off tender for 100 MW of solar
The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is seeking bids for solar projects with minimum capacities of 1 MW, for a total of 100 MW across 16 sites. Members of the country’s solar association are demanding higher power purchase agreement prices in order to participate in the tender.
Poland allocates 486 MW of solar in latest renewables auction
Poland’s Energy Regulatory Office has awarded 486 MW of solar in its latest renewables auction, which was largely unsubscribed. It allocated 150 MW for installations smaller than 1 MW, with a lowest bid of PLN 0.24477 ($0.056)/kWh, and 336 MW for larger installations, with a lowest bid of PLN 0.23677/kWh.
Germany allocates 104 MW of rooftop solar in unsubscribed auction
Germany’s latest solar auction allocated 104 MW of solar for buildings and noise barriers on motorways. The tender volume was 202 MW which went partly unsubscribed. The volume-weighted average award value fell slightly to €0.0874 ($0.093)/kWh.
French solar tender concludes with final average price of $0.08112/kWh
The French authorities have allocated around 180 MW of utility-scale solar capacity in the nation’s latest procurement exercise.
South Africa’s sixth renewables auction concludes with lowest bid of $0.02689/kWh
South Africa selected five solar projects with a combined capacity of 860 MW in its latest auction. However, the authorities did not select any wind projects from the 4.1 GW of bids that were submitted. The final average price for PV was ZAR 0.490 ($0.02808)/kWh.
Greenko wins 3 GW storage tender in India with pumped hydro bid
Greenko has won NTPC Renewable Energy’s tender for 3 GWh of energy storage capacity. Its pumped storage bid was the lowest in the tech-agnostic tender.
Romanian government accepting proposals for renewables auction
The Romanian Ministry of Energy has started seeking expressions of interest for its first renewables auction, likely to be held the end of June. Developers have until Dec. 30 to express interest.
Germany allocates 609 MW in tender for large-scale solar
Germany concluded its latest renewables tender with a final average price of €0.0580 ($0.06)/kWh, which is slightly higher than the €0.0510 level from the last such exercise. Bids ranged from €0.0520/kWh to €0.0590/kWh.
