German network operators approve grid connection of 46 GWh of storage at medium voltage level

Last year, German network operators received 9,710 connection requests for battery storage systems planned for commissioning at the medium-voltage level. These requests correspond to a total of 400 GW/661 GWh. At the transmission network level, large-scale battery storage projects with a combined capacity of 51 GW have already been approved for development in the coming years.

US-based mPower Technology opens automated solar module line for space

mPower Technology Inc. has switched on an automated production line for its silicon solar panels designed for space missions. The site currently has an annual capacity of 1 MW, set to double by the middle of 2026.

Optimizing PV system tilt angle, MPPT using fuzzy logic controller

Researchers in the Middle East have developed a fuzzy logic controller that simultaneously optimizes the tilt angle of PV systems and performs maximum power point tracking (MPPT). Year-long simulations indicate that the proposed approach increases power generation by approximately 20%.

U.S. scientists build graphene-based solar cells than can charge supercapacitors

The solar cells combine multilayer graphene with silicon wafers, harvesting both solar and kinetic energy for continuous operation. Tests show the cells can autonomously power supercapacitors embedded in a temperature sensor.

California legislation sets new safety standards for battery storage

TWAICE says California’s Senate Bill 283 will shift developers’ focus from hardware redesign to proactive documentation and data-driven safety compliance.

Australia’s S-Rack installs 83 kW solar carport for Parramatta Council EVs

S-Rack says its solar carport for Parramatta City Council in New South Wales demonstrates how tailored racking design can support municipal energy generation and electric vehicle infrastructure.
