TerniEnergia installs 57.3 MWp of PV in Italy

September 2011 | Applications & Installations, Industry & Suppliers | By: Becky StuartFrom July 1 until August 31, TerniEnergia connected 28 photovoltaic plants worth 57.3 megawatts peak (MWp) to the Italian grid. As such, all the projects will receive direct access to the fourth Conto Energia tariffs.
Of the 57.3 MWp, 8.7 MWp were installed under full equity for the company itself. They will either remain in its ownership or be sold off at a later date.
A further 6.3 MWp were installed for equally owned joint ventures, and the remaining 42.3 MWp were undertaken for third parties.
The photovoltaic plants are located in the Piemonte, Veneto, Umbria, Lazio, Campania, Molise, Puglia and Sardegna regions of Italy.
Stefano Neri, TerniEnergia’s Chairman and CEO, commented, "The company has been deeply involved, in the two months of July and August, in pursuit of this challenging goal, making it possible to overcome the constraint of the annual cap and will take advantage of incentive rates still full economic interesting."
